Our program combines didactic presentations with experiential components in a retreat-style setting, giving you the opportunity to work in dyads as well as large and small groups. With support from our expert medical and therapeutic faculty, you’ll explore the biological, chemical, neurological, emotional, and spiritual aspects of ketamine medicine and gain practical skills and hands-on knowledge in guiding clients through non-ordinary states of consciousness, eliciting transformative sessions, and creating playlists for KAT.

In-Depth Ketamine Assisted Therapist Training
The program includes two optional ketamine experiences (intramuscular) supported by a fellow trainee and contingent upon medical approval, as well as in-depth training in KAT and psychedelic medicine preparation and integration. You’ll also learn best practices for dosing and routes of administration, clinical care of severely depressed and suicidal individuals, ethics and diversity considerations, and the role of ceremony and ritual in KAT.

Robin Landers
Founder, Connected Heart Therapy
Robin is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who runs a thriving private practice in Austin, Tx. She has over 20 years’ experience working with individuals and couples, adolescents and adults. Robin began her career in mental health directly after undergraduate school, where she received her BA in psychology and went on to receive her Masters in Social Work. Prior to opening her private practice, Robin worked with adolescents in the juvenile justice system as an individual and group psychotherapist. She is a certified EMDR therapist in Austin and registered with EMDRIA, an EMDR consultant who facilitates EMDR basic trainings, MAPS trained in MDMA assisted therapy, and is trained in Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy and Systems Centered Therapy.
Wendy Byrd
Founder, Connected Heart Therapy
Wendy Byrd is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Professional Counselor. She maintains a successful private practice in Austin, Texas.
As an EMDRIA-certified therapist and approved consultant, Wendy utilizes EMDR in her practice on a daily basis. Prior to opening her practice in 2007, she worked with adolescents and children in a residential treatment facility conducting individual and group psychotherapy.
Yevgeniy Gelfand, MD
Psychiatrist
Dr. Gelfand received his Medical degree from SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn NY in 2006. Fascinated with overall wellness as well as the mind-body interface, he went on to complete combined training in both internal medicine and psychiatry at the Medical University of South Carolina. Since completing his residency at MUSC, Dr. Gelfand has worked in Emergency and inpatient psychiatry as the medical director of an intensive outpatient mental health program.
As a practicing psychiatrist, Dr. Gelfand’s approach is holistic, informed as it is by both his medical and psychiatric experience. He strongly believes in the transformative power of mindfulness, therapeutic processes and psychotherapy.
He is especially compelled by those suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and trauma related disorders, and understands how adverse experiences can play a strong part in our development as individuals; with his mindful application of new and ancient remedies, Dr. Gelfand seeks to assist his clients in vastly improving their quality of life.
He participated in a clinical trial investigating using MDMA-assisted psychotherapy for treatment resistant PTSD through MAPS. This experience, as both Clinical investigator and therapist in the study, was pivotal for Dr. Gelfand, as it deepened his understanding of trauma and how to work with it.
Accordingly, Dr. Gelfand became one of the first ketamine-assisted psychotherapy providers in SC. He utilizes this treatment modality to catalyze transformative processes, especially for those who suffer from depression, anxiety and trauma. Dr. Gelfand’s experience working with psychedelic medicines help him provide unique support to those who seek to clarify and integrate their journeys towards peace and wellness.
